Registration will follow a rigorous recruitment process that is fully compliant with NHS Employment Check Standards and can take some time to process.

How do I become a member of 18 Week Support?

We try to make the process as easy as possible, but we do need to screen your application to ensure that you meet our basic compliance criteria. Consultant entry requirements
  • Evidence of Professional Registration (e.g. GMC/GDC)
  • A copy of your most recent appraisal summary
  • Confirmation of sufficient insurance arrangements, to include a ‘Letter of Good Standing’ from your Medical Defence Organisation (covering the last 5 years)
  • Proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Photo identity document (Passport or Driving License).
  • Two satisfactory professional references, one of which must be from current employer, working in the speciality to which you are applying
  • All clinical staff working with 18 Week Support in England and Wales are required to have an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate.
  • Receipt of a completed Occupational Health Assessment form
  • Acceptable documentary evidence of immunity status
  • Acceptable documentary evidence of statutory and mandatory training
